Adapting from a smaller to a larger diameter shouldn't be a problem, and you'll quickly be able to determine if it is. Hook it up, put some fresh water in the condensate pump reservoir and see if it works.

It should work fine. The only potential problem could be a huge AC in a humid climate putting out more condensate than the pump and 3/8" hose could handle. I see you are located in central NC which gets pretty humid in the summer. How big is your system?

Thanks all! I put in an adapter (it was $3.xx from Lowes) and so far so good. I wish there was a quick-release option, though, as the drain is in the way when I need to change the filter, but se la vi.
