ALL of the cultivars of Lonicera periclymenum, Dutch honeysuckle or woodbine, are fragrant. 'Peaches and Cream' should be no different.

Like taste, scent is a very subjective sense so what smells strongly and good to one individual may not have a similar impact on another. I find that honeysuckles' scent is best detected late day and into the evening, particularly when it has been basking in the sun most of the day.

I don't know... the misleadingly named 'Scentsation' honeysuckle is a periclymenum and I don't think I have ever smelled a less fragrant flower in my life. ;) That's why I am seeking user reports. Aside from Peaches and Cream, I am also looking at Golden Flame, or any heavily fragrant variety that would work in my situation (shady flower box in Zone 5).

As I stated, scent is subjective. I have grown a number of varieties of periclymenum myself as well as spec'd them for numerous design clients and I have never failed to find them all strongly fragrant, Scentsation more so than most. However, planted in a shady position, they are unlikely to generate the same degree of fragrance than if they were planted in a full sun location.....which they much prefer.

I have a honeysuckle harlequin - nice, variegated leaves and blooms in shade. It is fragrant to my nose.

The ones I was sniffing were in full sun, though it was not late in the evening.

Thanks for your endorsement of Harlequin, getgoing. It could be a contender.
