I think I would let them establish a bit. If you move them again,they will lose size likely and be smaller next year.

Ya know, lindaliana, I am re-thinking your situation……there are many weeds and wild geraiums in that bed. I n my experience, geraniums will take over, lots of root competition. Perhaps digging up the hostas and potting them temporairly would be good. Then Then, I would have someone rotto-till that area so the weed roots and geraniums would be pulled out completely. Maybe amend the soil a bit and replant your hostas. They will likely lose some size, but nothaving that root competition from the weeds and whatnot will offset that……. I also looked at the photo in your other post as well.

Any move will set them back a little, whether you wait or do it now. If you know where you want their permanent home to be put them there now. BUT, as you know gardening is about playing with plants and nothing stays anywhere permanently except for a tree. And I have been known to move those too when they were small.

I would not move them until you have their beds ready to receive them. In the meanwhile, I agree with D about the weeds. Maybe do some weeding and light mulching where they are just to give them some space and time to grow.

I def need to mulch beds most am waiting to see what else will pop as I have no idea what is there. Then do some regrading and edging.

Will have to move at least some hostas, one because of spacing and two because of sizing, some smalls and minies are mixed in. Wish me luck. I hope I still can get big chunks of soil with roots so disturbance will be minimal.

Went today to Fox hosta to get couple large ones so I can scale beds better.

I'd move them as soon as their new spot is ready. The sooner they get growing in their new place, the sooner they start looking good. How'd you like to get a new place and then have to wait to move in? Hosta are like people, right?

On the second review, quite a bit of hostas ended up being "sucked in" so if nothing else I need to lift them up.
