It's hard to imagine that it's worth a thousand bucks for the difference between this and this.

I would never own a Miele DW they take way too long for a cycle and IMO no one beats Bosch in the DW department . I have owned 2 in the last 30 yrs one in my old house that is not almost 20 yrs old and in this house one that is 15 yrs old . The old one still going and mine now has had one service call and that was 3 months ago. I run a catering biz from my home so often 8 loads a day and the quick wash cycle does a load in 20 minns which is perfect .IMO a DW cleans itself quite nicely every time it does a load and I clen the filter about once a week when I am really busy . I havenever had a DW that smelled . I like the old style flatware baskets much better than the new ones BTW

I have the Miele 7566 in the house we just built. This is my third Miele DW and we've been very happy with them. The first was stainless and the last 2 have been paneled.

What I learned from my first one, is that you definitely need to use the Salt additive for best performance and the Miele Tabs make a difference too.

The autodos works great. I've become so lazy! ;-)

The feature I definitely wanted, and had before, is the auto open at the end of a cycle. Releases the steam and everything comes out dry.

I don't even know what the self cleaning function is! I always keep a few of the Miele DW descaling/cleaning containers and probably remember to run one 1 - 2 times per year.

Love the Miele cutlery tray.

Gotta love the people who tell you not to buy a certain appliance/product that they have never owned or had no recent experience with! lol

I have a Miele G 7566 SCVi SF. It's our fourth Miele dishwasher. The 7566 has broken two times in the past 11 months. We are still waiting on parts for the second repair. The dishwasher has been out of commission for the last 30 days as we wait for parts. Miele's advice was to buy the extended warranty.

I would buy the Bosch if I had it to do over again.

Never had any problems with the other Miele dishwashers.

I have had lots of experience with crappy appliances in my kitchen design biz and I also run a catering biz from home so my appliances need to be first functional and then pretty . I find all Miele applinces overrated and take too long for a cycle in both DWs and washing machines.

Patricia - Miele and Bosch Dishwasher now run a ”Normal/Auto” cycle in about the same time - in the 2 1/2 hour range. Bosch seemed to have extended their cycle time as I had one in a rental house that was an early 2000 model and it ran in 90 minutes on normal/auto. I am assuming Bosch extended their cycles to accomplish their low DB ratings. I have a miele - both of my daughters have a Bosch 800 and my MIL has a Bosch 500. Actaully my Miele is about 10-15 min less than my daughters cycle. Both Bosch 800 and Miele have a 60 minute cycle. They are both great machines - they both clean well and are quiet. Miele has a better racking configuration IMHO and better dryng with their auto open. The Bosch 800 crystal dry works well except with lots of plastics in a load. THe 500 doesn’t dry nearly as well unless you manually open the door and let it sit for a few hours.

I got a Bosch during Covid. My sister got one about 6 months later and hers has the auto open, while mine did not. So now both Miele and Bosch have the auto open, which does help plastics to dry.

My current Miele bought in 2011 is dead. This needed 3 repairs in that time, done by my husband. I need to buy another dishwasher now. (2024)

Another Bosch (800?), bought in 2011, 6 months before the Miele is still going strong in a rental house without any problems. We would be paying for the repair, so we would know.

Another Bosch (500?) in a second home circa 2009 is still going strong without any problems.

Both Bosch racks are terrible. Miele rack is way better organized and fits 20% more dishes.

In my personal experience, I would chose another Miele mostly because of the rack design, not because of the longevity. I tried to keep the Bosch at my own house because it was cheaper, but the rack design drove me nuts. I was used to an Asko DW previous to that.

I have used both Bosch and Miele extensively. I will take a few dishes to the show room and see how the racks feel. Miele has white racks. Bosch has dark grey. That alone makes a big difference, So much easier to see when loading and unloading.

I had a Miele which I installed in 2003 which never had any problems in a busy household until a very heavy object(large dog) jumped onto the open door of the dishwasher bending a hinge. Because of COVID parts problems, I replaced the dishwasher with the Miele G 7366 SCVi, I run it almost every night, and at just 4 years, I am very happy with it.
