Rug is very pretty. Rug in dining area is too small. I would remove it. Everything is gray. Get a throw & pillow or 2 in the darker blue and/or gold from the rug. Art (at least 2/3 the length of sofa) over the sofa. Oval coffee table and end table in the same color wood as your hall cabinet. Small round table between the recliners. Art over console beside FP. My personal opinion is the curtains are hung too high bring them down to about 4-6" above window and the rod should be 6" wider on each side of the window.

I would get a sturdy ottoman to use for a coffee table (add a large tray)

I would pass on end tables and get C tables for use around the sectionals, and add floor lamps for lighting the sectional. 1 low (arm level) chest of drawers between the chairs for stashing magazines and junk.

... move the candlesticks from the mantle to the area next to the fireplace, add a very tall piece of dramatic art. Don't need anything on the mantel until Christmas.

Thank you both! Great suggestions!! I am torn between an ottoman or coffee table. Love the idea to get C tables rather than side tables! I do have a local artist working on a 36X48 painting to put on the wall next to the fireplace.

I would consider moving the sectional off the wall to force the walkway behind the sectional and off your beautiful rug. This would make the seating area more cozy as well.

Pulled it away from the wall. Now just need a table or ottoman, pillows, and art( I have someone working on that)

I think that's a little too far off the wall covers too much rug.

We had it against the rug with more rug showing but I think everyone above my last post said to move more on the rug and off the wall.

Try rotating the rug now that the sectional is away from the wall.

I can’t turn it around , it would come too close to the fireplace.

Would you choose one of these or something else?

The back of the sectional should be about 6” off the wall, and the back legs should be on the floor (towards the kitchen) not on the rug. Just a little tweak in position. 🙂 It’s a wonderful room!!
