We are considering redoing our kitchen. The flooring and countertops have lived their life, and it would be nice to have a backsplash. Oh, I don’t love the cabinets either. They look dated. Since we are replacing these items, we thought we would improve upon the layout as well. PLEASE bombard me with your opinions on the new layout. I will post pictures in separate comments.

This all started with our dislike for the peninsula, it’s overhead cabinets and the hutch at the end. We would like to remove those items, and then extend the island. These items block the dining room from the kitchen.

We currently have the world’s smallest oven. Out it goes. In goes a standard size oven. And reconfigure the pantry along that same wall.

We would center the stovetop with the sink, which is currently centered with the window. This would allow space to sit dishes on the island after getting them out of the microwave, which is a current dislike we have.

I know I am leaving out details. I could add another paragraph about moving the fridge, but I have a difficult time with long posts. Pics and more details to come. I look forward to hearing everyones’ thoughts on what we are doing wrong. ;)
