Rather than sell either of our houses my partner and I decided to have a summer home and a winter home. Because his home is in Oklahoma we spend winters there. He was a bachelor for many years, working a lot of hours and in off-time having fun with hobbies, decorating his house was not a priority. We remodeled two bathrooms in 2021, this year the kitchen was our project. Finally, I have inspiration to cook and enjoy being in the kitchen. Here are the before and after photos.

After, refrigerator moved to opposite end of room providing

more counterspace.

Before, I called this the "cooktop cave".

After, the cave is gone and the area has a ton of

counter space.

Before, the horrible rock pillar that served no purpose.

After, the pillar is gone and we opened up the wall for additional light

and an improved flow to the great room.

To help brighten the kitchen and add detail we installed a tin ceiling.

We were a little apprehensive but in the end we are very happy with it.

The cabinets are knotty alder finished with a white pickling.

After a few months of living in a construction zone we are thrilled with

the result. Next year the main living area and three bedrooms.
