Thats the general idea, it wasn't as contemporary. Finding it in my history would be near impossible, I work on the internet, I get upwards of 200+ emails a day and do research for some clients which could mean looking at 100's of websites in a few hours. I thought of that but when I glanced at my history it was too daunting. Just yesterday I had over 385 sites visited and I can't remember if I saw it online or via email and I can't remember exactly when I saw it other than: recently. Grrrrrr....

Here are pics of my finished beach house kitchen. I put a metal sheet behind the stovetop because of the grease stains that were occurring. I spent a lot of time trying to get them out and was only able to fade them a bit. As others mentioned this tile is not sealed and does stain easily. Even though I love this tile and am happy with the look I may not have chosen it if I knew about this issue. It is not a low maintenance tile but it is beautiful.

mkk7, I'm going to once again push for the Bernhardt chair. I don't know the price but would think it is within your budget. I really feel the lighter wood and fabric, along with the more comfortable transitional styling with some nice curves to it, will play so very well with what you have chosen so far. I believe the light aspect of this chair in both wood and fabric will balance well the lightness of your sofa and will also keep the space light and airy next to your darker wall. The chair exudes an air of sophistication without being stuffy, and will warm up the space with it's soft look. With regards to a rug for the dining room, I would opt for a very simple pattern that is not angular. I would chose the round shape to offset the straight lines of your furnishings. A gray that is mid-way between the of-white upholstery and gray wall would help ground the dining area. The minimalist approach will also allow for flexibility with your l.r. rug choice. The medium gray in the rug will also nicely anchor your dining arrangement. This one is wool. I don't know the size you need, and I believe this is around 8 X 10. If you are able to place a pair of chairs opposite your sofa, I believe this chair (as shown) would integrate the several values of gray and will once again soften the look of your angular pieces and it would keep everything modern without being severe. As you may have noted, I am very much in favor of a room of neutrals with a varying degree of color intensity. Color can come with accents.

I am in the same mindset as Jan Moyer, but I handle custom mixing my paints just a little differently. I typically buy the smallest amount a store will sell me in the darkest color I would consider. Then I buy a can of white paint for "mixing". I take them home and paint the original color on a large wall . I then get plastic cups, add the colored paint with whatever amount of white I choose and play around with different ratios. You move on to a new cup to darken or lighten after you paint another patch. I've never added black, but maybe (Jan???) this would also be a mix-in you could try. Then when you get the colors you might consider onto your wall, paint those choices in other areas, on other walls and live with it around the clock to see how it looks in daylight, night, light and dark. If you need to paint more of it, do so. Then simply take your paint cup that contains the final choice back to the paint store, have them color match and voila! You have your custom paint! Don't worry, the "recipe" will go onto the can and you can always re-order (take a photo of the labels!). Sometimes I end up with the 100% original color and sometimes it's just a little white added to the color. But don't feel like you have to only choose a color you see. You can customize to your exact liking!!!
