Handheld Bidet???

Curious if anyone has one of these in their home? My husband has been wanting to get a bidet toilet for our master bedroom for a few years….after one of our family members got an electronic one at their home. Every time I have used the electronic bidet at my in-laws house it has creeped me out 😣. While I do love the idea of being fresh and clean in my nether regions, I am skeptical of the cleanliness of the electronic bidets.

The main things I don’t like are having to touch the buttons, and also wondering how all the different fixtures/water nozzles etc. get clean down inside the toilet? I am a fanatic about making sure my toilet is very very clean and I feel like there are a lot of ‘parts’ and the little jets inside the bowl cannot get cleaned properly.

I came across this photo, and I thought ‘Wow… now that is something I could possibly get behind 🍑 (pun intended 😛)! A handheld unit looks much more elegant than the electronic versions I’ve seen, plus I feel confident it could be cleaned properly. We have our shower plumbing on the other side of the wall from the toilet, so it seems like plumbing would not be an issue. Anyone have actual life experience with one of these?

What you pictured is very common in thailand. seems simple and efficient. nicer looking than other after market add-ons

Yes , my hospital used to have those at our old facility. They were called surgigators.

Very common through out the global residential communities. The electric bidet toilets are usually only available in very wealthy communities. I guess it’s your budget, contractor experience and availability. We self installed and piped only soft water to the Duravit wall hung SensoWash

I have a Toto washlet and it is essentially self cleaning. There are no "jets" but only a self extending wand. It is not particularly difficult to "deep clean" if you want.

There is a remote for the Toto which is on the wall - I don't know why touching the remote would creep you out more than touching any other part of your bathroom but you can always be ultra-fastidious and swipe it frequently.

I would think that a hose like the one in your photo would be a bit more difficult to use and I am not sure why you think it would be more sanitary. Do you stand up to use up? What happens to your underwear or other clothing - does it drop to the floor?

We had a hand held bidet installed in the home we built and are now building a new home and it will definitely have one in the master bath. Once you have had one you don’t want to be without it. Ours was very easy to clean and it is like having a mini shower right next to the commode. I suggest you research them and I might add it’s nothing like the ones that are built into the commode.
