I have been looking for Belle Story too and have not been successful in finding her...and right now battling RRD so probably a good thing I don't have her. It would be so sad to get her, only to lose her to RRD.

That's really strange @SoFL Rose z10. When I click on both of your pages, I have "Message" icons. Are you using your phone or a computer? Are you signed in to Houzzless? Try clicking on mine and see if you see a "Message" icon. I know mine is set to allow all messages. I'll be happy to help facilitate the transaction if it helps.

Are you using your phone or a computer? I've never used a phone for Houzzless, but most of my glitches have cleared once I began signing out of the site and signing back in. Perhaps clearing your cache, signing out then back into this site might help? It's the only thing I can think of.

Our rose society group has a teeny tiny Bell Story, we are trying to save, with 3 blooms. I would try to propagate it, but the stems are only 12 inches. The rest is old root with only these shoots and we are wet PNW. What would you do, given I am just learning to propagate (as of last year)?

I am really frustrated because this group has frowned on propagation and finally realized that they are going to lose these rare roses if they don't hurry up and try before the roses and/or the owners are gone. Rant over.

@ann beck 8a ruralish WA it isn't anyone is frowning on propagation, it is now pretty danged dangerous to spread a lot of things around without appropriate agricultural inspection. Those are expensive and very likely NOT to be undertaken when spreading things around. Brown Apple Moth, Japanese Beetles, root knot nematodes, Rose Rosette Disease, Brown Snail and Chilli Thrips are a few of the "gifts" rather easily spread around freely. Unlike in the "good old days" when Japanese Beetles and the nematodes were the worst to be feared. Yup, we're losing stuff daily and we're going to lose a whale of a lot more. Just wait for mandatory water rationing. I know some here are likely sufficiently observant to prevent the spread of these issues, but far too many AREN'T and it only takes ONE. No thank you.

I would nurse a rose back to health before trying to propagate it. No use chopping up a baby plant and losing it and the cuttings.

roseseek I hear you, that is why I was pushing to do this all LOCALLY within 10 miles so that all the bad stuff stays out and we know what we are dealing with. But the push before Covid was been to bring things in from other places much farther away as a fund raising. I don't want Japanese Beettles, RRD and all the other things. These are from local rose gardens who haven't brought in plants for years. These are the perfect places. A 10 mile radius and we are fairly safe from the nasties. But we still are careful and have the expert Rosarians looking over roses and the most they find is Black Spot or Powdery Mildew or Rose Slugs or Aphids.
