rootstock for dragons eye pine

Hello. I just joined so I could post a question. I'm new to grafting as well. I have a dragon's eye pine that I am particularly fond of. Can this be grafted and if so what would be the most compatible rootstock.

Since there are several species of pines that have a cultivar with that common name, we need to know which to make meaningful suggestions. I am not a grafter/propagator by practice but it would seem botanically logical that the same species would be a good rootstock.

I'm not sure. I purchased in 18 years ago when it was about 5-6'. Attached are the current shape and the needles. It is most distinct early spring. It is now starting to put on new growth.

Looks to my eye to be a Pinus densiflora.

Will cuttings root or does it need to be grafted?

Pines are nearly impossible to root from cuttings.
