Thoughts on the below.My plant ID app says wild poppy. Can I leave it?

I would, but I love poppies - wild or tame.

Papaver somniferum is the poppy.

Agree on the poppy id. The ’phlox’ is a weedy Epilobium. And there’s Lambs Quarters there too. Top right of the 3rd pic is a Hollyhock. Bottom right of the same pic is something else of interest, perhaps Agastache, but not really sure.

I’m not seeing anything orchid-like. I thought that was Iris foliage. Pic 4 also shows a swathe of Epilobium and several Lambs Quarters. Plus forget-me-nots and something in the Caryophylaceae. No Ruellia imo.

Floral, are you saying the 2 plants, with buds bent to the right are Epilobium? And what are the shorter plants with cordate leaves and opposite foliage?

These look similar to Ruellia humilis. I have hundreds of them.

No, not the one with the bent buds. Imo, all the others in the picture are Epilobium, which I know very well. The red tinge is common. But I’m not familiar with R humilis, so prepared to be surprised.

Ruellia humilis has red tinge too. The leaves on my plants are ciliate, but there are about 8 varieties of R. humilis, and at least one of those has leaves that aren't ciliate. I've looked at all the Epilobium species native to Maine, and Epilobium anagallidifolium is the closest imo.

There isn't much literature or photos for all the varieties of R. humilis online. I'm glad I drank a lot of coffee this morning. 😰😂

E parviflorum and E ciliatum are the common ones I get here as garden weeds.
