Okay thank you! I was referring to the planter box, it is crumbling a bit but I wasnt sure whether to leave it for now or try to repair it

Ah, I see. You could repair the chips and repaint.

Or grow some trailing plants over the chips.

Ill have to see what can be used to refill the chipped areas. You also mentioned some gap filling, do you mean adding more plants? there are weeds everywhere so ill have to start slowly

Back up to the street. Take 3 or 4 pictures starting at the left, move the camera, not you, take another, until you get to the right side of the yard. Post them. Lets identify what is in the planter and what trees are in the yard. Weed the planter. Decide if you want to paint the planter a different color. Then add in plants. I probably wouldn't worry about the chips at all.

Once the planter looks nice, it will give you a boost and then concentrate on the rest of the yard.

Yes, by gap filling I mean putting in more plants so the planter is less sparse.

You could also paint the chipped areas the same color as the brick, they will visually disappear.

Your 4 big bushes the orange-red-yellow ones are crotons. I have to grow them as houseplants.

Planter falling apart --- Concerned that it could collapse?

Just pull everything out of the planter, including the soil, repair it, maybe paint it a nice grey or white, and use it for seasonal annuals to add some color. As the the rest, I'd pull out everything but the crotons and pus in some nice mulch and some annuals in front.

Personally, I think the biggest negative in the appearance of your house is not the flower bed or the beautiful tree but the garage door and the dormer beside it.

The cheapest improvement would be to move the garbage can into the back yard. An alternative would be to plant a large flowering or other wise attractive bush. on that side of the drive. It could be used to hid the garbage can and would dress up that side of the house.

The garage door detracts from the appearance. I would paint it a color that would complement the house or the same color as the house.

Finally the brown awning is an additional distraction. I would remove it, or since it looks like it is metal of plastic I would paint it to match the roof.

Otherwise I like what you have done with the plantings. I may add additional planting on the right side of the garage door.
