Bunk beds!

I agree bunk beds

how would you place the bunk beds, please?

and if I prefer to keep the two beds standing alone, because it is mainly a guest bedroom, how can I place lighting fixtures and split AC?

I think I’d put the bunk beds on the entry wall with a night stand between the beds and the door and a shallow closet/chest of drawers on the bottom left wall, with a centered flush mounted ceiling light. I’d also use a pocket door for the bathroom so the vanity could be opposite the door with the toilet on the left.

Thank you Susan. Do you mean bunk beds on the wall to the left of the door? Do you think of other ideas with regular beds, too?

The bed against the wall will be a PITA to make up. As a vacation rental manager, I would suggest stacking bunks with the headboards on the current TV wall. Mount TV in the recess by the window where you have one bed now. This should open more space for a dresser, chest, chair or luggage rack, Stack two wall mounted floating shelves with rails around them, as you might see in a moving ship or camper trailer, for each bunk. Use the current outlet for TV to pull wiring through to the two shelves for a wall mounted sconce above each one. Excuse my crude drawing.

Thanks a lot. Bunk beds is a good idea but it won't suit what this room is made for as a guest bedroom, may be occupied by seniors for example. I agree that beds next to a wall are way hard to make, but I believe bunk beds are the same when it comes to this point.

Do you think two wall scones are enough for illuminating the room?

Is there no ceiling fixture? You could get bunks with a trundle under the bottom one that rolls out and can even pop up to be level with the other mattress as a double. You can also get a bunk with single on top and a double on the bottom. I have one of those at a cabin I manage. If you can add a chair and floor lamp, that should help with lighting. Seniors would appreciate a chair too.

there should be a ceiling fixture. well, it is still under design stage. we are considering a couple of ceiling pendant fixtures, however we are confused of how to place them with these beds of asymmetrical projection. any ideas?

When I had my bed by the wall I always ended up making it sideways because it was easier. Plus I sat sideways on it during the day to watch tv sometimes so the pillows being there made sense. I didn't think it looked too bad but I don't have a headboard.
