IMO it depends on the home I do not think bedrooms need to be the same style but rooms that you see together need to flow . I do not like themed rooms so maybe exlain what you mean by theme.Pics of your home are always a good way to get help. You have nothing in your idea books so I can't even guess at your style . So explain what rooms are where they are in the home .

Normally we are drawn to the same, more or less, style/color spectrum/feel even without realizing and reason for many similarities throughout homes.

If you are drawn to different styles, enjoy them, especially in an office, bathroom and bedrooms. There are also ways to make subtle connections.

People are mixing in one room all the time, so it‘s even easier with different rooms.

Thanks Maureen! These pictures are what I needed!

Your house is not Disneyland, where one room is Pirates of the Carribean, and another is Epcot, and the main one is Mickey’s Toontown. A home is a string of beads. It can be bright and primary, but all the bright bugle beads belong on that strand, and theres no rough amethyst crystals in the bunch. It can be earthy and natural, with wood and raffia and stone beads. It can be sophisticated and monochromatic, like a classic string of pearls. It can be individual and different, like all the colors of the natural precious stone crystals, but it all needs to add up to somethng that you could put on with your black dress and attend a function and not look a hot mess.

Love the analogy! Thanks, Verbo!

I think it is possible if you use a common thread…such as picking a color that will be represented in each room ..or even a distinctive trim throughout..some connective detail ..
