Name That Plant!Container Gardening Cacti & Succulents

Please help me identify my cacti

Hi there,

Can someone help me identiy my cacti? I’ve tried several plant ID apps and google lens and I get a different answer from all of them. I got them from Home Depot, says grown from Theaut’s Flower Barn. There are three. I posted two pictures of each at different angles.

Best I can do, is suggest Mammillaria spinosissima cv 'Un pico' for #1. I've included a pic of 1 I had a few years ago, in Australia.

#3 could be one of quite a few different Mamms.

If #2 is an Echinopsis, then it is most likely one of a zillion hybrids, but I also get a Lobivia vibe from it.

You don't indicate where you are, but remember these need LOTS of sunshine, they hate cold and need very free draining Cactus compost. Water ONLY when dry and very little, if any, water in the winter

As a starter before I start trawling though my image library,

#1 and #3 both Mamillaria spp.

#2 probably Echinopsis spp ot hybrid

Wow! That is BEAUTIFUL!

I live in zone 6 but I guess it gets broken down to 6a and 6b. I think I’m b according to something I found online.

These guys definitely will need overwintered. I purchased a grow light but I’m not sure if it’s any good. I do also have a shelf set up in front of one of my eastern windows. I know south facing is the best, but I was unable to put it there.

My collection has grown kind of quickly. I’ve been lost in the internet lately reading and trying to learn as much as I can about each plant that I have. I want to do my best with them.

First one is Mammillaria polythele f. nudum. Second looks like Notocactus uebelmannius (syn. Parodia werneri). 3rd could be Mammillaria polythele just a different form or amy number of other Mammillarias. When it flowers it will be easier to tell.

Last one could also be Mammillaria sempervivi. Just giving me that vibe.

Thank you so much!! I’m hoping the third one flowers soon. They are very hard to tell apart. I really wish growers for retail big box stores would mark them as what they are. I’ve started buying directly from growers just partly for that reason. I’m not sure if that’s better or not but I guess I will find out haha
