You already have a 4 inch backsplash. Will you be removing it? Usually it is one or the other. Most people don't tile over the 4 inch.

if you want that maybe stainless steel sheet or a very close to the paint color tile. But I wouldnt want to call attention to that area. Id be figuring out how to replace the hood light bulb to match the color of your can lights.

I would get a tile that blends with the cabinets. Year's ago people did artistic tiles making that area a focal point. Now not so much.

I would do solid tile but maybe in an interesting shape. Although you can't go with a basic subway tile.

The gray type color will be tricky.

You already have a low backsplash made of the counter matirial, so you don't really need anything else. If you want one for interest rather than function, you could remove the low piece and put in a shade of white, for lightness (maybe match the veins in the counter), or a color for interest or to tie in with the neighboring room (I imagine an aqua or soft green, but have no context), or even something close to the gray of the cabinets but with texture interest (shiny glass, or ridged or iridescent tiles, etc.).

I would remove the 4" slab backsplash and do tile across that entire wall from the fridge to the range wall. Maybe white hexes? Or some other white mosaic tile to add interest?

I have no idea what the counter material is but IMO a nice tile backsplash across the wole wall instead of the 4" piece and then some other behind the range would not look good IMO Not sure where you live but that rang that close to a wall would not pass code where I lve

I would use a simple stainless steel panel behind the stove - easy to install, inexpensive and does the job

I really like this tile that Sabrina Alfin Interiors posted, and I agree that, ideally, the 4” tile should be removed and replaced with the tile. But at the least, it should be wrapped around the range as chispa suggested.

Kitchen looks real nice. Stove is in a challenging spot. Not sure about a backsplash there. Maybe add a narrow shelf and then put a stainless sheet up to bottom of it? How can you keep side wall protected I’m not sure.

I just dont think you want to call attention to baby in the corner if you know what I mean. I do agree a splash guard of sorts would be good.

The first one that Sabrina posted is most likely a Jeffrey Court marble mosaic, Park Place collection. A pricey option.

Because of the range being where it is ... that whole right wall would have to be tile too, for it to look intentional.

Is there a way for you to get more of the countertop material, if so perhaps use that behind the stove. If not, we might also recommend using a stainless steel sheet behind the stove instead.
