Sorry the first paragraph was cut off. Should read: I’m having a custom closet made for a small empty space and am requesting suggestions or other ideas regarding the hardware. I’ve drawn up a semi to scale drawing. The design will be shaker style and painted BM Simply White (will match my existing baseboards and window trim/doors).

Cabinet hardware is quite a personal choice, like choosing jewelry for an outfit! When I had my kitchen renovated a few years ago, I chose simple Shaker style cabinetry and simple pulls, that do not catch on clothing. They are all the same size: 5.5”, brand: Top Knobs. I was told by friends and family to pick kitchen hardware that would not catch on your clothing.

I did think about the “not catching on clothes” factor because my 2 favorite pulls have those type of ends than can snag a belt loop or pocket. But the cabinet is in such a location that a person would not be walking close to it going by. Good reminder though, thanks. I like the look of your pulls on the drawers being mid front panel

Kculbers can you tell me why you chose to put 2 pulls per drawer instead of one long pull? Did you just like the look or did someone tell you the width of the drawer was too wide for just one pull?

Pam: I did not care for the look of one long pull on my drawers, it looked “heavy“ to me, and not streamlined. I felt the same sized pulls on all my cabinetry was a simple look and feel, that blended well with my simple Shaker styled cabinets. My husband agreed. Years later, I am still happy with my hardware choice! Again, choice of hardware is a personal decision, go with what you think looks and feels best!

I used long pulls on my wider drawers and shorter ones on my smaller drawers. You can do the same and use the longer pulls vertically on the upper cabinets. I like that combination for your house but I definitely question a pull that will catch on clothing. No one “walks close” to cabinets but these things manage to snag pockets all the time.

Personal choice! I much prefer one longer pull on a large drawer, but not too long, unless it is a very contemporary kitchen. I used 3 different pull sizes in my kitchen and the matching knob.

In my office nook the 25" wide file drawers have one 8" pull.
