You never can tell

A couple months ago, on a visit to the local hardware store, I was stunned to find myself staring at a rack full of packets of flowers and vegetables, just inside the door. Of course I HAD to buy some daylilies, and I called my wife to ask if she would like me to buy some vegetables. I bought some white onions and rhubarb. Today I had the pleasure of partaking of a strawberry-rhubarb crumble from our "garden", which consists of three large growers pots for the Rhubarb, and two tubs that look like miniature kiddy pools for the onions.


Speaking of strawberries, one of the two packets of daylilies was Strawberry Fields Forever, which you can see in the photo. Between the two packets of daylilies I bought, I got four very small plants, but three of them have scapes and two of them have bloomed! Nice surprise!

    Dave, I do that as well. Sometimes I feel sorry for them especially if one has a nice sprout in a bag at Walmart. Unfortunately, so many of the bagged ones are misidentified. Your dayliliy is quite cute and looks like it is a small one.
