My first house had the dishwasher left of the sink. I'm right-handed. It was a non-issue, I never consciously thought about it even once in the 13 years.

My husband is left-handed, and to date our dishwashers have always been right of the sink. He seems to load the dishwasher with ease.

Same. Two righties with a left-side dishwasher. It's great. The important part is which side it needs to be on for flow and ease of putting things in/out. If ours were on the right side, it would block the path through the kitchen and open into the cooking area.

Dishwasher on the left because I am right handed. All tasks requiring a depth of motor skills are preferred in the right hand like scrubbing, adjusting faucet, etc and require no switching of hands. The only task for the left is for holding and moving the dishware to the DW.

Why does he want to move it? On which side of the sink is the range/cooktop? You can get used to the DW on either side, but it shouldn't be in the primary prep space between the sink and range, and it should be convenient to your dish storage.

Both my husband and I are right handed. When we had our kitchen renovated a few years ago, we kept the same “footprint”, as it functioned well for us. Left of our sink is the dishwasher, and then our range.

Our previous house had the DW on the left. We are both right-handed. It never bothered us.
