Door hardware install issues

The door hardware install has gaps/ cracks/ visible filler materials- see attached photos- at all doors of our house. The builder says this is just how they do doors, try to fix it once door hardware is installed, even if not installed well. Is there any way to fix this? At every door interior and exterior at our new build.

Typical tract build door and hardware quality. And the typical butchery by everyone involved. You can buy better quality doors and hardware after you move in, then learn to mortise yourself, and paint the doors with a sprayer instead of your feet, and replace it all.

Sloppy painting on improperly prepared cheap doors with $2 hardware is just the canary in the coal mine. Annoying, but merely the signal to look beneath the sloppy, for the clueless and incompetent. There are much bigger details to worry over. Like water management. Window flashing being done correctly. Roofing install, grade around the home sloping away, shower waterproofing correctly done. Those are the things that ruin a house in short order when incompetents do them. Sloppy workmanship is pretty much a given at that level of build.

It’s surprising the builder isn't willing to make the painters fix this on a new house. If you have the correct color paint you could remove hardware, sand and repaint door ends. You might be able to clean the paint off the strike plates and then put them back on but it will be easier to just buy new ones. Still can’t believe this is acceptable on new house but if this is the only problem at least it’s a simple one to at least make look better.

Wouldn't blame the quality of hardware so much because even on the most expensive door for example made by Provia hardware is made by schlage, too. But installion above is horrible. Tract or not tract builder, some people have no shame what they do. Picture of one of my Provia door. I had some genius installing levers crooked or even breaking main Provia lever for front door. Finally my husband had to step up and fix everything because we couldn't stand looking how things are being installed.
