GM Kaye! I've run into this myself. Not a pro. I looked at a lot of photos and articles, some from Houzz.

Basically my takeaway was: 1. treat the whole wall as 1 big blank canvas, for a gallery wall, or 2. adjust your layout into areas and let the art define them.

I ended up with option 2.

It would help to see the rest of the room, but if you group the 2 chairs around the fireplace, then art (the clock?) would define the fireplace area. It could be 1 large canvas, a cluster of family pics, a storage piece . . .

If you have room, move sofa down a bit so separation looks intentional. Group art over sofa to define it. What do you think?

Maybe a table with a lamp between the chairs and then nothing on the wall.

More pics and a floor plan.

Several suggestions. The current multi-panel art above the sofa looks dated. Would recommend replacing it with one larger piece of artwork. The furniture arrangement seems disconnected with all the seating being lined up against the wall. Would suggest moving the chairs so that they have some sort of relationship with the sofa. Bit hard to see in the photo but might suggest the large wall clock be moved out of the shadows and, perhaps, onto the wall that is currently empty. Would definitely suggest having end tables as well. Good luck!

    Couple of ideas:

Move the chairs forward and take the big clock in the corner and hang it between the chairs. Turn that console in the corner the other way, facing into the room and hang something light over it, maybe something even light reflecting.

Is your statue a musician? Get a very large poster print with a muscial theme to hang behind him. and get some complimentary lumbar pillows for the chairs

If that is not a musician — well, you get the idea

Would you consider moving some furniture so it isn't all staked against the same wall? If so, post more pics of the room, and dimensions...

I would put my money on new window treatments unless you're in an apartment. Move the clock and console table behind the chairs (are they across from TV?) Lower the art to 5" above the sofa and adjust to be one hand's breadth apart. Looks like you need some task and accent lighting (i.e. table, floor and accent lamps) to warm the space so it looks less commercial and doesn't have dark areas.

I agree with you, I think a floor lamp would look great between the chairs.

A photo of the rest of the room might help me. I agree with feedback re furniture in a row against the wall. Or: is there room for the sofa to scoot over where the diagonal chaise part is in front of the fireplace? Then put chairs on the other side of the sofa. Fireplace area can be pass through from patio door, play area, office, game table . . .

Your layout will determine where to put the art.

Less is more. I do not think you need to add anything more to that wall.

You have a great space , and you have options ...it looks as if you have a fireplace across from those two chairs ...well , here my ideas : you could divide the space with a tall skinny bookshelf , you could separate the space as mentioned before with a little table and a tall lamp or you can place one of those wooden room dividers . Before you make your decision , just glance through all the room divider options on the internet .... ...you’ve got this !
    Enjoy !

A large wreath can add color, texture and dimension. A picture shelf to arrange various photos or display a favorite large object, not a lot of little ones.

Upon closer inspectsion, move chairs closer to fireplace with a table and lamp between. Place the chairs perpendicular to each other so one chair has the right arm toward the fireplace and the other faces the fireplace, encouraging more interaction between all of your seating areas. The shelf unit and clock can be moved to the wall behind where chairs are currently located. An indoor tall plant next to window will provide visual relief.
