Our library takes most books (maybe not text books) that they sell at their fundraising book sales. I'd double check with those in your area. Some prisons take donated books. If nothing else list them on freecycle or craigslist and put them on a table at the end of your driveway and let people take them. You'll probably be rid of most of them.

Do a search for those little free libraries where you can just take or leave a book, or your town might have a nonprofit that deals in giving away books, or a local shelter might appreciate having some books on hand for the people they serve

Try some places of worship.

You probably need to look around your local area. Like someone else mentioned my local library accepts books to resell weekly. (no textbooks) For years there has been an annual used book sale started by the local Red Cross and now run by a food bank as a fundraiser. I took boxes of books to them a few years ago.

In my old location, a group of churches rotated a huge barn sale weekend every year. There was a large selection of used books.

Check for a Half priced Books store near you. They buy as well as sell.

Maybe google "used book sale" and your town. There maybe a similar event.

I would take them to goodwill

I loaded the books I wanted to keep on my Nook App. Then I donated a lot of books to a local store in our community that helps abused women.

I would also just take them to goodwill or another thrift store. I love to look at books and pick up new-to-me books when I go. One thought though, some thrift stores don't take or sell books for whatever reason. It might make things easier on you if you call around and see who is happily taking books in your area.

Update, I spoke with our local Goodwill and they will happily take the books!
