I'm so sorry to hear that. There is so many variables in gardening that some years I've been fed up too. And to have to fight houzz too...definitely GRRRRRRRRRR. Praying for rain.

Debra, I really feel your pain, still teetering on the edge here. We work so hard to make things nice and create beauty and mother nature throws her curve ball. Just hoping for rain for us all and watering when I can. I couldnt get myself out to water in that heat and humidity. I am still hoping to see some beauties from your garden in the future, I so looked forward to seeing what you created. Bring on the rain!

I think the topper of it all is that Houzz dropped all your hard work. We all know that the heat will end at some point, but will Houzz ever be reliable?...............I'm so sorry about the shape of your daylilies. Even though I water all my pots every single day, I still see some of the leaves are experiencing heat stress. The forecast for a brief reprieve from triple digit temperatures on Sunday/Monday, is welcome news, but we have no rain in our forecast and it will still be hot enough that I won't be able to skip watering. Yeah, Houzz is a pain. I dumped my cookies and something else. Seemed to speed things up else where. I still can't get pictures in my post, have to do it in comments. I am seeing some bud drop here. I had to dig 2 daylilies planted in spring and 1 that had been struggling that have a bit of crown rot. The 2 new ones I am pretty sure can be saved, whether i can manage is the ? Allegheny Skyline may bite the dust. I am not good at rescuing rot victims. I have a few others foliage is yellowing. Most plants look surprisingly good though, and I am seeing a few rebloom scapes. I agree though, seems like later bloomers are slowing down. Sorry about the frustration though, and Houzz does not help!

Well, I was going to post a picture of our dry grass, but Houzz won't do it. I haven't been having any problems, but I guess the problem is spreading.

Conditions are the same here. The foliage on so many daylilies looks just terrible. Bloom colors are off and flowers are small. That is even with watering almost twenty four hours a day. Bob has been turning off the sprinklers early in the morning (they have been running all night) so that we can look at flowers and perhaps hybridize and then he turns them back on after lunch. There are three running right now. Luckily for us, we are on a well and have good well water where we are. We have a 50% chance of rain on Sunday. Also, someday, we need to get 1200 seedlings planted. This is the worse season I have seen since 2011 when we had major heat and no rain.

Nan - OMG, I can't believe how brown your grass is! It looks like someone sprayed Roundup on it. I have some very small patches of grass here and there that are starting to brown, but it's nothing like yours. I'm surprised your bloom colors are off and flowers are small when you've been using the sprinklers so much. That must be a disappointment.

Nancy - It's so weird that Houzz won't let you post photos until the comments. I know you've been frustrated by that. Sorry about your crown rot.

Maryl - The heat has been even worse for you than me. Watering all those pots daily must be a pain. I still have about 20 in pots that I've been watering daily, along with my seedling beds and my newer planting areas. I'm glad I have soaker hoses in two of my gardens. Plants in those are doing fine. We are supposed to get some cooler days on Monday and Tuesday.

Sherry - I hope we both get rain soon.

Brad - I haven't had any problems this year with Houzz until that post last night. I guess there was some word in it that caused its algorithm to hold it. I'm waiting to see if it shows up in the next 24 hours. If it doesn't, I'll repost it.

Debra, I am so sorry. The heat is supposed to be a bit better next week and better chances of rain.. It is 95 here with 103 heat index, but I got rained on fifteen miles away at Walmart. Not here though.

Kay - I am looking forward to temps in the high 80s for Monday and Tuesday. But it will be a brief respite.

The heat takes its toll quickly, even with watering. I am noticing that in daylilies that are potted. What will July bring?
