LOVE the wallpaper in this room. I would consider keeping it. Here are 72" diameter tables in the room. Note the position of the ceiling electrical box is not centered in the ceiling.

With the right accessories and art the room could be great!!

I have a 4’6” square table in a space slightly smaller than yours that seats 8 and works really well.

I find the wallpaper visually jarring especially with the blinds, millwork and light fixture. A soft white sounds good with some nice artwork in that space. Is the light fixture centered? Maybe it looks off center from the angle the photo was taken from?

I would definitely remove the wallpaper. Please post pictures when you are done.

I see some people like the wallpaper and some people don't. If you are going to keep it, I would remove the molding on the lower half of the wall that is an attempt at faux wainscotting. The style of the wallpaper is not consistent with wainscotting - neither are the shutters for that matter. I don't know what your style is, so I don't know what direction you want to go in.

This sounds ideal for everyday ... if you could get such a table with a leaf, so you could "open it up" when you need more seating, that'd be better still.

I'd like to see some color brought into the room. I really like the image above with red chairs ... it seems more alive.

Clearly people are split on the wallpaper -- I'm with the "find it jarring" side. I think the problem is that too many things are trying to be the star.
