Thanks. I did in fact, visit Lowes and looked at the ThermaTru doors. We also had a salesman from a local company that actually manufacturers the door here in our city. It is really difficult to compare apple to apples as there are many variables. We have decided not to go with wood. We like a smoother look, rather than the faux wood finishes. We don't know if steel or fiberglass is better. Hoping to get some thoughts, particularly from people that have gone through this process. Thanks

I would choose fiberglass over steel.

We replaced our 10 condo doors with Provia Heritage fiberglass doors. Crystal Exteriors which services DC, MD, and VA sold the doors, measured the openings, and installed the new doors. The doors are excellent, energy efficient and substantially reduced street noise.
