Concrete Prepping Equipment

Hi Gang,

I am looking for advice on what to use to prep concrete for laying primer/epoxy/urethane floors in my garage.

My local home depot is renting out the following equipment that they recommend to use to prep concrete:

Do you guys have any other preferences of tools to use for the job?

Is there a better place to rent those equipment other than Home Depot in Canada?

There is couple of preferences that I have for this task but they are not a must haves:

I don’t have a truck or van, I would prefer something smaller in size that I can put in trunk of Honda Accord. My plan so far is to rent a van from Home depot to bring over heavy Floor Maintainer.
I already painted my garage ceiling and walls. If there is a tool that produce less dust as possible, that would be great.

I can not provide answers to your questions.

However, friends who have done DIY epoxy on their garage floor experience bonding issues. Even budget professionally installed may too.

Accordingly I went with Race Deck vinyl interlocking garage flooring. It has been down over 5 years, self-draining, easy clean and simple maintenance.

Reside in upper Midwest so likely similar weather conditions.

I am looking at this option as well and even got a quote for my garage. Came to about $2k.

My concern with floating tiles is that they will "pop out" when I will be turning my wheels inside garage. I read and watched some reviews and that was something they said happen to them. Has this happened to you at any point? Please let me know.

@irafikov - NEVER have mine popped out while turning the wheels. They do need to be installed with about a half-inch expansion on all sides. Like most items, there are

good and not-so-good. Mine are the most dense Race Deck.

Here is the site link. I don’t recall the product name of mine but ot has a high density even permitting a lift atop.

This is DIY install. I only used a framing square and a chop saw. Took less than a half day.
