Landscape Design Garden Roses

Need Rose Bush Help!!!

We recently moved into our house which has beautiful rose bushes! Unfortunately they're in rough shape. I'm wondering how to revive and make them more healthy . I don't have any experience taking care of roses. I'm excited to take better care of them...but not sure where to start. Any advice?

Congratulations on your new house and new to you roses. To start I would cut out anything that looks dead. Then I would remove all of the weeds to at least a foot' around the plant maybe more and top dress with some compost and maybe some composted manure. Water that in well. Then I would cut it back by about 1⁄3. This looks to be possibly a hybrid tea or floribunda type, possibly a double delight. It will soon send out some new growth; when it does that you can lightly fertilize with soluble fertilizer and enjoy some new blooms
