I'm not a fan of overly tall daylilies. Myself and a few friends don't mind a front of the border daylily or two if it's got all the other attributes. So if you have a pretty face show up on a shorter daylily (like 25 inches or so), think twice before ditching it.....I see you have Acquire the Fire. The color on it is phenomenal in high heat and it's a vivid red during cooler days too.....Coral Majority was with me for many years until I got tired of it. The color didn't stand out in high heat, and I much preferred Burning Inheritance for a colorfast orange........You've gotten some wonderful lavender seedlings this year. I'd say you are on the right path..................Maryl

Daylilies that stand up to rain a and heat are generally keepers. I like Coral Majority and yours looks very nice. I like Rob Cobb.

Slow grower--how do we define that? I have Stenciled Infusion, and it has not increased in almost four years. Rose F. Kennedy shrank in size. Soli Deo Gloria is another in this category. (It is being propagated commercially. Good luck!)

Mantis, slow grower defined by me LOL. Meant slow to increase. My examples, I have 6 of Purple Riot, that's up from the original 4 from about 10 years ago; fortunately it has nearly 20 buds per plant. It stays. Loch Ness Monster, 2 plants and I received these 2 10 years ago. Not well budded so going away.

Strange how different plants can be. I have had Loch Ness Monster many yeays and shared it often. 3 or 4 years ago I shared too much and was down to just a couple of fans. Back to 7 now, not fantastic, but it made a good show this year.
