Will it provide enough light?

probably not, if it was too bright it would loose effect. essentially you have LED rope light and a tube.

These are meant to be ornamental lighting in most areas, not the actual task lighting. If you look on their website, you can see a lot of other lighting or the pictures are shot in daylight, in most of the photos.

There appears to be lots of sources that are selling similar fixtures for a lot less $$$

Many of the sources noted are in the US. and have a return policy.

The light fixture is nothing more than some metal rods with a silicone tube that has LED rope light pushed through the tube.

There are different quality levels of every individual component that goes into any light fixture, just like there are between any original product and its knockoffs. I would be hesitant to buy the $249 version of a $5000 anything. I wouldn't necessarily buy the $5000 version either, but I definitely would not buy the version made entirely by near-slave labor in China just to save a few bucks.

The 3dsky site Beverly posted should sell it cheaper … since it’s a 3d model, not an actual light.

Be careful of unknown sites. Always research them — Trust Pilot is a good source, as well as others. There are a lot of scammers and drop-shippers that have very professional-looking websites with fake good reviews.

Thanks for everyones input and opinions. I guess no one so far has put anything like this in their home yet. I will check out the other sites, but I too prefer to made in USA if I possibly can. This is for over my dining room table which will also have recessed can lighting and will be providing atmosphere light mostly. And yes, my home is quite modern, even though it is called mountain modern - 20ft high barrel ceiling . I have looked at the round halo lights for over the kitchen island and am considering them there.

Just to say this, its not a functional light. its a pretty light.

Shelly, OMG nothing is made in the USA unless it's custom and then it's $$$$. Lighting is made overseas, even with the higher end manufacturers. They buy their parts from overseas factories and then often will assemble or finish in the USA. It's not right but all these companies are owned by larger corporations that simply look at the bottom line and their stock price each quarter.

Even Ferragamo items are cut in Italy from leather and assembled in China where costs are cheaper and they don't go on strike and then there is a label inside that says Made in Italy. Go figure??????
