I've read that solid wood doors can expand and contract and once painted can have cracks. We have solid wood v- groove maple doors on island and contemplating staining dark charcoal/ebony instead of
painting. Cabinet maker says once sealed painting should not be an issue?

Also we wanted similar v- groove pantry pocket doors that are large (80" by 20") and have concerns of door warping in a pocket situation. Any tips to avoid this like constructing a v- groove look without using solid wood? Or do we need to reconsider design?
