Painting a Bookcase

I posted about my bookcase dilemma and took your advice. Note:The lower cabinets will be painted white.
Question:
Do I paint the teal all the way to the ceiling or stop where I am?
Would you paint the cabinet top white as well as the cabinet fronts or leave the top the original natural color. ( the shelves and vertical wood will be left the original natural color )
