What’s wrong with the current situation? What functionality are you wanting to change? Typically I want one lock to have a keypad because my husband always accidentally locks me out. Otherwise what you have is pretty typical. I don not recommend, nor does code allow, a double keyed deadbolt.

I worry that someone could simply brake the glass, turn the lock and get in the house. I used a slide bolt higher up on the door in our previous house for at least a little added security...but wondering if there is something better.

Nothing that doesn’t potentially create an egress issue for you and your family in an emergency. Get an alarm system if you need one but any door can be kicked or pried in in seconds.
