I bought darmera this year and am asking myself if I'm crazy since I don't like to water and it's in a spot that isn't constantly wet, which I've heard it likes. Is your friend's in a wet spot, well-watered spot or ?? Have you seen pictures of the blooms it gets?

Since mine just went in this year, I'm trying to water more regularly, but next year we'll see how it does with more normal care. It may get replaced with a ligularia if I can't/don't meet its water needs.

Unlike myself they have an inground sprinkler system so water is not an issue.

I realize this post is 2 years old, but I have some darmera that 2 years ago grew fantastically, over 3 feet tall. Last year and this year they are only 12 inches and look sickly. They get plenty of water. The only thing that's changed is some of the surrounding plants have advanced around them and may be out competing them. Thoughts?
