If the deck is replaced sometime in the future, it could be expanded and done in a more transitional style…perhaps in white, wood, and some black trim. That could be the transition from your rural surroundings to your contemporary/modern interior. I thinks it’s fun and exciting to be surprised when you walk into a home that has an alter ego from it’s exterior. Have fun with it!

I think the best you can expect is modern farmhouse.

The current porch area seems closed, except for access from the door. Doesn’t it need a walkway and access from the yard? I would buy it first and live with it a while before deciding what changes to make to the area shown, but I agree that the best possibility is along the lines of deco’s examples above.

I would go with white. White on white looks good. Or off-white to pop up white trim.
