Bathroom Vanity Lighting

Would having sconces on either side of an LED lighted mirror look odd? I already have the lighted mirrors and was planning on hanging a lovely pendant light at each mirror. Due to a remodeling issue (cannot remove existing soffits), I don't think pendant lights will work. Because the mirrors are lighted, perhaps sconces on either side of the mirrors, such as in the photo, won't look right. As in this photo:

Alternatively, I can go with something along the top of the mirror, as in this photo:

Our ceilings are 10 feet, but the soffit above the vanities bring it down to 8 feet.

Which would look more appropriate with the lighted mirors? Thanks!

You either add sconces or overhead recessed lights. The lights in the mirrors will not supply enough light for the area.

That is very pretty. I do need additional lighting but wondered whether sconces on the side would look funny since the LED mirrors have lights on the sides.

Idk, have never had LED mirror, but I imagine that they emit plenty of light for basic purposes. Lumens amount? ...

As Beverly said, try recessed. Or maybe oval, or round, flush with ceiling, at 1" high.

Ok houzzer Beverly, calling Beverly! I think sconces can be placed in upper corner area of the mirror... and not straight off from the LED strip part.

Would seem more 'natural' for added lighting to come from the 8' soffit - why not?

Sconces will offer a different type of light when you don’t have the mirror lights on. They can be used to so your makeup as well if you find the mirror lights are too harsh.

The idea is good, but the choice of sconces doesn’t work with that kind of mirror.

Sconces would be fine as the mirror lights won't always be on. Sxconces add mood lighting to the room as well as a decorative element go for it!

@everdebz, I would like something decorative, and so I thought sconces or the bar type lighting at the top. We are checking to see if we can re-route the A/C duct that is behind one of the soffits and if we can, we will remove the soffits and I'll install pendant lights.
