You need to find out what your particular epoxy manufacturer will allow for a mat over the epoxy. But a quality epoxy applied properly should not need a mat.

I applied Rustoleum Rocksolid product. It is their top product so it shouldn't peel as easy. I also did +A job with concrete prep.

Since I heard that hot tire pick up could be an issue with epoxy like coating. I want to get something to put under my car that I can easily replace.

I will call Rustoleum as well to get their opinion.

Yes and with Rustoleum you will definitely have tire peal if the tires are hot or you turn them. What prep did you do, most all the Rustoleum I have seen used came off fairly easy.

I used three layers of Rustoleum Rocksolid. This is their top of the line product. They also have cheaper options. Hopefully your experience was with cheaper options. To me finish feels and looks "Rocksolid" but time will tell. I am happy with final results so far.

1) I used floor maintainer from home depot to remove everything from concrete till bare concrete. I also used angle grinder to remove old paint from sides.

2) I used concrete degreaser to remove any oil spills. Most of them got removed in the step above but I did it anyways

3) I used Rocksolid patch repair for all cracks and even dents

4) I used Rocksolid etching solution for concrete after

5. Of course, I washed floors countless times in between and after

6) I waited one week for concrete to dry, even put a dehumidifier in and run it the whole week to make sure that everything is dry

We had commercial grade epoxy flooring installed in our garage several yesrs ago. Nothing else is needed. The reason we got the epoxy is to create a great durable floor surface for when my husband does work on the cars and for maintenance on the lawnmower, generator and snowblower.

Also the Rustoeum “ epoxy” flooring is awful. It does not last.

Rocksolid is their Polycuramine product. They also have a cheaper two part epoxy water based product that I avoided.

Honestly all the Rustoleum products like this are mediocre at best.
