I like the organic white the best

Thank you Kay! That’s exactly the one I’ve been contemplating the most. I like the pure white but appreciate the suttle movement in the organic white.

Would love if someone has pics of their Cesarstone in this or any of these.

Organic white for me p, but I would want to see a full slab first. I think I like it because it looks more like real stone without those intense fake veins some quartz has

I am doing a white KitKat tile for backsplash. 3/4 up the wall. Similar to these. White box built in for hood range with open shelves. I love the backsplash, so hoping one of these will go really well. I will see the bigger slabs in person soon. That will for sure help.

Organic white

I'm still not clear if that is the actual tile you'll be using. If so, I think it is too white for any of those countertop choices. Monitors vary, of course.

Another vote for organic white! We just put Pure White in our kids' bathroom. It's nice but seems too bright and sterile for your space.

ETA: I thought your kitchen looked familiar--I'm glad you decided to extend the LVP into there! I'm excited to see how this room turns out.

I agree with @Fori. On my monitor, your backsplash looks cool white/gray and those counters all look like warm white/cream. I like the warm white with your cabinets but not with that backsplash.

Of the counters, I would vote either of the middle two, but mainly because I don't like speckled quartz.

Stiley-YES thank you. So happy we continued the lvp! I will update other thread. I would love to see your pure white counters. I think that one matches my tile best but I agree that it maybe too stark, so I need a working marriage here lol.

This is the thing. My backsplash is a bit cool, but I love this tile. I am hoping that grout will help. Also SW Pure White will be painted above the backsplash, will be color of range hood cover and other walls in the kitchen. It seems to have just enough warmth in it to help too.

Rtpaige03- I hear you. It just pains me to revisit backsplashes. I can. I mean this tile can go in our second bathroom remodel later… maybe I rethink backsplash OR go with Pure white. Going to send another angle. I have never loved speckled quartz, but it kinda reminded me of Terrazo and I wondered if I can pull it off.

I understand that you love the backsplash tile. That seems to be something you are set on, but it is white/gray/cool. The creamy white for the counters just don't work with it. I think the creamy whites go better with your cabinets, but if you are sticking with that backsplash, then find another product for your counters that is a more cool white/gray. Or does the backsplash tile come in a warmer, more creamy colorway?

Decorpatti-thanks for the input. Ikea is having such a great special right now with Caesarstone, so I was hoping that one of their options could work. But maybe I have to revisit the tops or backsplash

I agree on the speckled quartz. Never been a fan either. So, I firmly believe you should look at the elements in your kitchen lighting in the plane they will be installed. So backsplash vertical, countertop horizontal. Then you will see how it will look to your eyes. It seems in your inspo pics, the countertop is a brighter white.

I prefer speckled quartz. I don't like it when it is fake stone but I like it as a modern take on terrazzo! And I think it is good for your kitchen's style.

But the tile--also a good choice for your kitchen--is better with something more plain. Can you do a mockup of tile with a bone grout and see if that does the trick? Is there a whiter quartz available? Even one with speckles?

I know it's advised to pick the counter and do the backsplash last, but I firmly believe that if you have a backsplash in mind that you WANT, then that comes first.

Thanks Fori. I got the KitKat tile for a steal and do love them. These countertop samples are all the whites Ikea had. Pure white is the brightest of them. I was browsing some grouts. Alabaster seemed like an option too. I can try to do a mock-up with grout. Good idea

Wait…you got the KitKat tile for a steal….please show us that with your countertop choices. It appears that you have posted tile that is not KitKat? And asking for countertop advice? Or am I wrong?

The backsplash tile is above in the pics. I call those KitKat tiles-not sure if there is another term. And yes was hoping for countertop advice to tie everything together. Specifically with the countertops choices from Caesarstone/Ikea.

I agree with @decorpatti that the bright white countertops don’t go with your cabinets. But if you’re committed to that vertical white tile for the backsplash, the plain white is the best choice.

Usually, the backsplash tile is LAST because until the whole kitchen is done, including lighting, the tile is too hard to match. In this case, your white tiles seem too white because the cabinets call for a creamier white. I like the first quartz the best with your cabinets but it won’t work with super white tiles.

Can that selection be undone? I think it’s going to mess up your look since it’s so glaringly white.

I think your choice in backsplash will be a huge mistake. Save it for another project since you already bought it.

Well, forget IKEA. Yeah, good sale, but no good color.

Stay on target and get a counter that goes with the backsplash. WHITE white. Or something totally different. Corian Seagrass? (Corian is actually pretty cool when it's not trying to be fake stone.)

If a true white won't go with your cabinets, then the tile won't either. But I think it will. Get samples of products that aren't on sale.

I love the kit kat finger tiles, but have you considered picking an actual color? This way w/the white countertops, it won't look so sterile. You can always sell the white ones, or use them on another project

if you did a diff til, this charcoal gray, brownish glazed blue, or the blue green, would look so much better

white countertops and wood, shown w/the soft sage and gray grout, or how about the black one w/the white grout? I actually think that would look the best w/the wood and the gold

hard to find all 3, but here's wood, white and the matte black/charcoal w/a dark grout.

the all white can look good, surrounded w/wood. these are a bit smaller than yours.

These tiles are the speckeled white kit-kats. shown w/a slightly grayish/white quartz. Do you like this? (minus the backsplash countertop)

The whites at IKEA didn’t work but maybe I can also see if I missed other colors there I wasn’t really paying attention to when I went, because I was focused so much on the white. But yes if I find an exact white I can be done hypothetically-tho I think many are saying go warm and not cool with the cabinets. That corian seagrass is so cool btw, never seen that before. Helps me thinks outside the box.

Beth H. I love all your examples so so much. It covered it all. And the couple examples of all white were helpful. It made me think I should make the hood range cover wood rather than white IF I tried to keep my all white theme. I love that light wood kitchen photo, it was an inspo pic.

And the white with speckled cream tops I liked! But then I wonder if it looked good because the cabinets are white. I love the speckled, blue, but loveee the green! Let me see what I find.

Would a grey/cement like color countertop work with my wood cabinets? And separate question- Will a wood hood cover for hood range help if I do all white?

I’m glad @Beth H had photos to show you how the style of that backsplash works in different colors! A white countertop with the green vertical tiles would be lovely. Or blue.

If you like the speckled countertop , it gives a warmer look and the colored backsplash adds some pizzazz.

are you doing white uppers? wood? open shelving?

I think you could do a white hood vent but run a piece of wood around the bottom that matches your cabinets. You could match your wood w/your cabs. I did walnut w/mine because I have walnut shelving and black accents.

I like all of your countertop options, IF you like white. I'm not a big 'all white' kitchen person, so I'm going to vote for something else.

have you considered a charcoal quartz? like Silestone? or maybe a gray color? Does it have to be a white countertop?

I do like the organic white, or that speckled white, but I would pair it w/the darker charcoal or speckled kitkat. (have you seen all of the colors?)

I think the backsplash you have chosen and the slats on the island are too many vertical lines. Your flooring while quite lovely, also reads as vertical lines. You need some organic movement in the backsplash or on the countertop. Have you considered a porcelain slab for the backsplash that mimics a Calcutta marble?

I have a speckle counter, recycled concrete that looks like the nougat you posted. It reads solid but the variation in color works with the gloss white base cabinets and my walnut wall cabinets. I have a porcelain Calcutta marble backsplash. I love it.

The quartz companies had an apple green a few years ago that would have been so perfect in there with your tile. (Perfect for me, anyway. You might feel differently.)

So plan is to do open shelving. I love the pics where the shelves seems to line up with where the bottom of hood range cover ends…but for more storage will likely do two shelves. We’ll see.

So my secret to affording remodels one room at a time is FB marketplace. That thermador stove was $500 bucks and my KitKat tile was $3.50 sqft rather than $21! So these are definitely steals. I say that to say it makes my shopping more complicated. I see what goes well, and try my best to mimic what I am going for.

I am going to post other ikea countertops as well as some wayfair tile in my range. See if this changes anything

lmao. here's my Calacatta marble backsplash and island top. The walnut trim I did myself around the window, stove, and the coffee bar off to the left.

I almost choke when I see 800 bucks for these shelves on those design shows. I bought my own walnut board (1x8) cut it to size. sanded, stained, installed. $45.

I'm a bargain shopper too. we flipped a house (now our rental) using craigslist for a ton of deals. tile, appliances, furniture, etc.

3K to make over this lovely 1980 builder basic.

everything was DIY and all tile was leftover on craigslist. vanity I painted (1950's chest) marble sink on clearance, counter was remnant, window was cheap, I did all the tiling myself. This was 12 years, so design was a bit different back then. I'd never use marble in a rental now!

BTW, for your countertop, this is the Silestone charcoal quartz I mentioned. suede finish. same thing I have but in the gray would look good w/your wood

Beth how awesome! All of it! Looks like you went with the black GE appliances and those pendant lights are fire. Love it. And the rental flip bathroom-awesome. I love and need to bargain shop to do this house. Sometimes I think in addition to doing hair maybe I can get a part time job finding stuff for people lol. I enjoy it. Thanks for sharing! And I think some of those tops are Caesarstone-couple look like they might match some I posted from ikea. And if I went dark maybe my tile works…or not at this point lol. Did you see the wayfair ones, those are on sheets too which I find convenient. Those wayfair ones might look good with any of these tops, esp the very speckled nougat top. And I love the look of soapstone! I just heard about porcelain, very pretty and maybe more cost effective. Before quartz I was thinking corian too at some point because the durability with kids.

I don’t know how it works with your backsplash, but we’re going with medium wood stained base cabs and warm white uppers and I was very very tempted by Caesarstone’s Frosty Carrina for countertop. It has very faint grey veins and it’s a warm white background. We chose one with a little bit of brown mixed into the veins, but you might check out Frosty Carrina, it’s lovely.

Gonna make a pitch one more time for something that is NOT vertical for the backsplash. Many of your elements are vertical i.e. the wood grain, the flooring. Look how lovely the round pendants look in the wide shot of your kitchen. IMO, you need something with curves or some kind of organic movement, not vertical.
