i can see that you start in a corner to build the square. But are there sashing strips between the block vertically…or do you add another light strip along the last row?

I have got to get back to the machine and this one is pulling me.

Theresa, I'm so sorry I never answered your question. No extra strip added. I started with a 3-1/2" dark square. Then I added all 1-1/2" strips. First, a 3-1/2" dark strip, then a 4-1/2" light strip, a 4-1/2 " dark strip, a 5-1/2" light strip, a 5-1/2" dark strip, and so on, ending with a 9-1/2" light strip for a total of 12 strips and one square. This gives you a 9" square finished block. As you can see on the close-up of the block, you build on only two sides of the square. I hope this is clear.

DH contracted the ’plague’ a few weeks ago and even though quad vaxxed, he had a heavy dose. He even spent three days in hospital. He is now fine. But while he was down, there was no sewing.

And now I am having a few health issues, those pesky knee, hip joints, which limits my trips up and down stairs. Dr. appt. this afternoon to try and find a remedy.

We have another great grand due in Jan. so Nanny has to get a quilt made. And I would like to do it soon. ! No pressure!

So sorry about your DH, Theresa. It sounds like you didn't catch it though, thank goodness. I'm sorry about your joints. That damn arthritis! It doesn't kill you, but it sure makes living difficult and painful. I hope your doc can get you some relief.
