An 8x 10 would work, but a 9x12 would be better in my opinion.

I realized I should post a few other pics and measurements. From the hearth of the sofa is 7 feet but could push it back another foot. Or put the rug under the sofa.

Go bigger. You have a large room. Mark it out with painters tape first.

You could tape out the sizes with painter’s tape to get an idea. (Not solid tape, just corners or whatever.)

I really like your current rug and would layer it on the jute/sisal.

Thank you! Darn, I really like both. And, the idea of layering. My current rug clashes with the sofa which is new. This is our only family area (no family room and we pass through this room to get to the bedrooms. I’m a little concerned about tripping. So maybe the 8x10 is better.
