Yes if you have hard water or other minerals in the water staining can occur and then you have to use products to remove that. I have soft town water that is well treated and so with a drying of the shower after every use it stays clean, although grout will always tend to discolor with time and then you have to get in with a toothbrush and some detergent or something like distilled vinegar. I use a shower curtain instead of glass for the specific reason that it's easy to wash once a week and keep clean.

The glass in my shower is also Showerguard.

I don't do anything special - or more accurately my cleaning lady who comes once a week does nothing special.

I use a glass/mirror cleaner that is safe for marble because I also have marble floors and counters and I wanted to ensure that no one made a mistake and used a caustic product.

FWIW I am in Los Angeles which has hard water and my glass is still pristine after almost four years of use. I don't squeegee after a shower either but the glass is cleaned of obvious water drops every week. During the pandemic the glass was cleaned less frequently because I didn't have my cleaning lady for awhile and it cleaned up spotlessly after some months of neglect - Showerguard is really worth the price.

To clarify, @arcy_gw: do you Swiffer the shower walls and floor? @Helen: what glass & mirror cleaner do you use?

I use MB Stone Care which despite the name is also for mirrors and glass. I bought it based on the recommendation of Dragonfly who is a professional tile person and posts often with great advice.

As I posted, I use this because it is also safe for my marble floor (shower and bathroom); marble counter as well as a marble feature wall in my shower. My tiles are hardfired with a crackle glaze from Encore and I really don't do anything special with those.

It's been four years and everything still looks pristine.

Just use the towel on walls & floors after every use. only takes 30 seconds. If you have an exhaust fan...run it for a half hour or so...perhaps a timer?

When cleaning, use a neutral PH cleaner. Do this and it will look good forever.

A good fan is critical. I have a Panasonic Whisper model which turns on and then off based on ambient moisture levels in the room. It works great

I use Mighty Indigo cleaner, recommended by Best Tile (we also have porcelain tile - Falling Water in "Jog" color). BI comes both as a spray and a heavier cream, good for the grout. A non-ammonia for the glass doors and surround. We squeegee the glass and also leave the room fan on for 30 minutes every time. I confess to not wiping down the tile as I probably should!
