How do I establish a new honeysuckle plant?

I just planted a Scentsation honeysuckle, and the branches were all coiled up and twisted, of course. It's hard to get them started on the trellis like that. Can I cut it back to the ground in the Spring and start over, or should I leave some of the old branches above ground? It's my first time growing this plant.

I probably should have posted a photo to begin with, to better show what a tangled-up mess it is! This is the best I have been able to spread it out, but most of the branches are twined around each other in a clump.

I just installed a new extra-large trellis, and it has spacers to keep it away from the garage wall. I just tied the clump of vine branches to a lower rung, so it isn't waving freely, but it's still a big clump!

Just untangle it, spread the stems out and tie/weave them individually into the support. Place some going sideways, not just straight up. You can prune it when/if it needs it, which could be in a couple years time, depending on how quickly it grows.

The stems are tightly wrapped around each other and most of them would break if I tried to untangle them. I have tried but with little success.

Just seen the pictures. Just tie in any stragglers. It’ll be fine. Is the trellis flat against the wall? Or is there space behind it. The honeysuckle need room to twine right around the struts.
