I haven't seen any crown rot so far. What I saw more was plants going dormant during the long periods of no rain.

I am not sure these new ones had crown rot, I just pulled out the foliage. Looks empty, but I am holding on to hope they are just dormant. Not confident but that did happen with Easter Pastel, one I got as gift from the convention.

White Unto Harvest, last blooms though, been in bloom 5 weeks

Lemon Crinkles is not supposed to be a late, but always blooms late here. Blooms out fast though.

Jersey Spider has several rebloom scapes this year

Midsummer A Woman's Work. Started blooming June 2. I don't think it has missed a day of bloom since, still pumping out scapes. 1st scapes never have many buds but the later it gets in the season the more it has.

Final Frontier is the latest to start blooming. Not fancy but around 40" tall and well branched

Tuscawilla Tigress has very few blooms left but has been blooming almost 6 wk

Very last bloom of Captain Noodles, sorry it is blurry

I'm An Angel on rebloom, it never has failed to rebloom

Honky Tonk Barbie rebloomed on 2 of its 3 scapes. Usually very nice, this one was a little wonky

Rainbow Maker (got it right this time I think) has done wonderfully

So sorry about you losing daylilies. Hopefully they will bounce back. I saw on the radar that you have gotten a lot of rain finally. We are really drenched, but not like eastern KY. They might get more tomorrow. Praying they don't.

Rainbow Maker is my favorite of this post.

Shark Infested Waters looks terrific! Rainbow Maker looks like it has several rebloom scapes for you. It's nice that White Unto Harvest has bloomed so long. My Honky Tonk Barbie only had one scape out of five fans this time. It's never performed well for me, but when I received it, it had almost no roots.

Many plants will drop leaves when they are stressed. Some of my daylilies seem to have a few more yellow leaves then normal BUT, it's been too hot for me to groom them as usual, so maybe just an accumulation of old growth. Also it's been too hot for me to do my usual lite liquid fertilizer mid season (Miracid 1/2 strength), and all the watering I'm doing has more then likely washed away a lot of the nutrients. If it cools a bit I will probably give them a shot of it BUT it needs to cool down first......... Cats just crack me up when they hide like that. I don't see you, so you can't see me......Ditto on what Debra said on Shark Infested Waters. It looks fantastic.....I liked my Tuscawilla Tigress when I grew it. It's only negative was that it didn't hold it's color all that well in the afternoon.......... I like Captain Noodles. The name makes me smile too...........My Honky Tonk Barbie did just alright this year with one rebloom scape, but this wasn't it's best year for sure...........Maryl

Never say a daylily is totally gone till next year. Very nice photos of Shark Infested Waters and Captain Noodle.Colors look perfect. Had a good laugh on the kitty under the grill cover. Talk about rain, Yikes, we've had so many storms here. Due to the heat we finish any outdoor projects by noon and head inside or go do errands. Too hot and the storms don't really cool us down much.Having another storm right now and more on the way.

I too like the colors on Captain Noodles. Is it one you particularly like--or not so much? Honky Tonk Barbie had quite a bit of rebloom here--after I said bad things about it last spring on this site. But it continues to be a rather short plant--not blooming beneath the foliage, but much shorter than registered. Shark Infested Waters looks more red than pics in the past.

We rarely have crown rot and we water all the time. Sometimes the conventional garden wisdom is not to water during the heat of the day, but we ignore that and have no problems. We have had daylilies go summer dormant. The advice to wait until next season to declare those daylilies dead is good advice. Hopefully, you don't have pine voles which will eat the crown and roots, leaving the leaves to fall over. They are a problem here and seem to be worse when it is dry.

I really like Shark Infested Waters. I am always attracted to the color of Hookie Tonk Barbie.

Brad, it has been raining regularly here, but not the hard drenching rains that we got initially. Definitely not like eastern KY. I too pray they don't get more.

Debra, hopefully H. T. Barbie will start doing better for you. Shark Infested Waters has done good this year. I almost lost it, moved it and it seems to like it's new spot. It looks nice and green, 1st couple of blooms were a little splotchy but have been clear and nice after that.

Maryl, maybe I should just cut off the yellowing leaves. Funny, around my deck they are all nice and green, the drought does not seem to have bothered them at all. Around the front they are yellowing. Yet the back gets almost all day sun. Tuscawilla Tigress seems to hold its color pretty well here, maybe not on those days we had around 100 degrees. An oldie, and an orange, but it sure gets attention.

Julia, temps have been lower here, but humidity seems as bad. I get out early too. Weeds are growing like, well, weeds. I can't seem to stay ahead of them.

Mantis, i do like Captain Noodles, the form makes me smile, and the color is good. This is its 2nd bloom year. It did not do much last year, sobi moved it where it has more space. it gets its expected height but about half the but count stated. Upper teens ans low 20s, but that is good enough for me. Since I moved it, that may have set it back some. I never pay much attention to height of a plant, but I think Hinky Tonk Barbie is probably a bit short here, definitely above the foliage. The rebloom scapes are taller and may be close though.

Nancy, I don't have voles, but a lot of moles. Or at least I see lots of mole holes. I don't see new tunnels this summer, or new holes, and cats have not been catching many. They sometimes dislodge the roots of daylilies, but rarely seem to kill them. Annoying, you have to be careful where you walk, but 9n the plus side, I have very few Japanese beetles.

Wow, Nancy. I am sorry you are losing some. Shark Infested Waters, Captain Noodles, and Tuscawilla Tigress all appeal to me. Jersey Spider looks as if it is large and I like the color of it too. Lemon Crinkles is a nice yellow and Rainbow Maker is always a goodie.
