Hi! Need stackable Washing Machine & Dryer! LG Tower or Electrolux?

Moving into new home and not sure which to go with? I have an older LG and the cleaning of machine and mold issue is a problem! The only reason I am considering the LG Tower is because the controls are in the middle of machine and I am petite at 5'0. But not sure if this machine has a mold issue? I have heard many good things about the Electrolux. Some complain about no wifi. I don't care about wifi capability. Just cannot deal with the maintenance of a moldy washing machine. My old GE was also a problem. I understand the technology and equipment is better now. Also, where do you purchase from? Now that Sears is gone I hesitate to purchase from Home Depot because they do not accept returns. Lowes has some machines but the Electrolux would not ship until November! Also, who has good customer service? So many things, really need to make a good decision here because my pocketbook cannot take much more! Thanks so very much!

LG makes better washers than Electrolux. The issue with Electrolux is they are notoriously poor rinsers as it doesn't spin between washes and rinses in most cycles.

As long was you don't overdo it on detergent and leave your washer door open between loads, you won't have issues with mold. Using a high quality powder detergent such as Tide will also help keep your washer clean.

I’ve had the LG Washtower for a year and so far no mold I do leave the door open and it will remind you to do a clean cycle. We previously had the Kenmore HE3T and replaced that moldy gasket once, so I understand where you are coming from.

I just got my LG Washtower a few months ago, and I like it so far. I leave the door open a bit, and will sometimes stick a rag in the gasket to absorb water if the last load was a slower spin (so the gasket is wetter).

Get the LG. I had an Electrolux FL. Kicked it to the curb when it was 5 years old. The machine had no mold and no smells but my clothing stunk becuse it did not clean well or rinse well. One or both. Biostink built up in the clothing. I posted about it somewhere so I wont get into it here. I got an LG after that and it has been so much better. Clean smelling clothing. No mold issues.

My LG wash tower was just delivered last night (new house). I'm 5' also. I've read really good reviews, so I'm hopeful. My only complaint so far (1 day) is that it sits far from the wall because the dryer is on top, and the dryer vent comes out of the wall near the floor. Our mistake I guess. I may get a tall cabinet to sit along side so all the hoses don't show. I did want to mention that Home Depot does take returns if you notify them within 48 hrs. We also purchased the Samsung 4 door flex fridge from them, and they delivered the wrong one. So back it's going. Really gorgeous fridge, though!

I have the Electrolux pair for about 4 yrs. i have had no problems. I run the clean the machine perodically. keep the dryer door open about one inch. No smells & no mold.
