Retrofoam soundproof for condo...?

We are looking at putting in retrofoan below our unit, between us and the neighbor below... 4 inch of foran is 41 dB sound dampening. I think we will have 8 inches. So this may be more, which could be a good sound barrier. Has anyone tried this before?
What about using underlayment?
Anyone tried this before? And results?
