Too vague a question . What is oyour style ? I love PR since they can be very over the top decor wise but I ned a bit more info. I would start by removing thta cabinet on the wall it akes the space feel even smaller than it is . If you post a couple of pics of the living room for instance we can get a feel for your style. Post the pics in a comment it is the easy way.

You could certainly use a new light fixture, and I agree with Patricia, if you don't need the cabinet over the toilet, remove it. It instantly dates the room and is just too bulky. Replace it with art. Paint the walls a lighter color - a warm white, or if you're feeling more adventurous, something with a green tint would probably work. Greens work well with warm woods. Blue will emphasize the orange tint in the wood. Definitely do not install a colored toilet. It's unnecessary - everyone uses white. If you put art over the toilet that is what will catch everyone's eye.

paint everything, remove the wood trim (or paint it) Paint the ceiling a darker color to bring it down,

bring in longer light, that wall cabinet,,,is is necessary? It's huge and overpowering.

if you look up "small powder room " to get ideas.

could you open up the cab or do some open shelving or something

cutting the room in half w/wainscot, or paper, or two colors of paint, will also 'bring' down the overall height.

So little in photo view. Cabinets are...you could say valuable. If painted the same color as the wall, could be 'cool' and blend in. Wallpaper seems a go-to for powder rooms. Any color, style, pattern you like in your house?

The upper trim looks good, and could be a part.

Toilet paper, etc. Add a 'foundation' to the uppers, with a shelf for baskets,

or a spring tension rod for this hook and baskets thing.

Always up to an owner. When I see that wall upon entering, I'd like to emphasize something - if torn off, I'd have canvas art that I like. It's easy to dry off in my bathroom.

Or my interest in chicken wire door fronts - this could be accent spot for that, if it suits... if you love copper, add it here - is it in your kitchen? I'm just trying to explain myself.

The over-the-toilet cabinet adds to the claustrophobia. If that’s what folks see when they walk in, put up a whimsical picture. Definitely paint the whole room white with the darker ceiling as Beth said, and then consider doing the one lower cabinet a color in the new picture. Is the floor staying the same? If you will change it, go lighter as well.

I, too, own a claustrophobic powder room and struggle to figure out what to do with it. Do you have a mirror anywhere? Hard to see where the sink is.
