Wow! The Goldner seedling does look almost just like Jan Zoo. Your photo of Cameroon Night looks lovely with that lemon lime hosta. I was planning to move out Cameroon NIght since it had repeatedly been decimated by grubs, but it did well this year, attaining its registered height and having moderate branching and bud count. Trance is a great one. I need to get mine out of the shade. By the way, did Summer Snowball ever bloom for you?

This has been a terrible year for growing daylilies here. Very few of the daylilies I got in 2021 performed well because of the lack of rain in May and June. My best new one from this Spring was Aunt Patsy, which I received as one fan in April. It immediately put up a scape with 16 buds, of which deer mostly ate. A few weeks later it added a second scape. The original fan rebloomed and the new fan did too. Lots of lovely blooms. Here are a couple of its different looks.

My favorite of the new ones was Rapture of Love, which I received as three separate single fans. I did not get any increase. The bud count on the largest fan was 14, just one under the registered bud count. The scapes were almost the registered height (many scapes were short this year because of the drought situation).

I forgot about Hoopla. I got it in Spring 2021 and it did put on a great show this season.

Ghost Gifts was another I got in 2021 that had a pretty good showing. It set pods easily and increased its fans. The foliage is enormous now.

You both have a lot of nice ones that did well the first year. Hoopla, Jan's Zoo and Cameroon Night stand out to me.

All my first year ones didn't do so well. However some of my first year seedlings did so I will post a few that did:

Siloam Amazing Grace x Indian Giver 1, tall 14 & 15 buds, perfect blooms; some others with a little less bloom and similar. except one cream color.

Bombay Silk x Vintage Wine, 24 buds, 16 buds, 34 inches tall, Others similar with around 12 buds.

Bali WaterColor x Sugar Magnolia

Smoky Mt. Autumn x Jolyene Nichole had 10 buds plus instant rebloom. Others with less blooms all similar but one.

Wind Frills x VT Rose Rosy 15 buds

I had many others that did reasonably well that I really liked with about 6 or 7 buds.

Many of us are busy re-arranging our gardens at this time of the year. Moreover, I would second what Brad had to say, especially in regard to fall-planted cultivars, that first timers didn't like their first winter (though they survived).

Nan - What a nice group of first-time bloomers. My favorite is Thunderbird Dancer. I see it's a Derrow, and I looked it up. Your photo is prettier than Mike's! Seeing Swingin' Miss takes me back in time to Soules Gardens outside of Indianapolis. I knew SW's hybridizer, Marjorie Soules, and she was a lovely lady, and I used to grow several of her intros. I remember Marge and Clarence talking about Swingin' Miss because it had won an award - don't remember what award. Nordic Sunshine also caught my eye. I like the pattern.

Here are my favorites so far: Debras Aunt Patsy, Brad's Smokey Mountain Autumn seedling, Nans Double Blazing Busby and Sioux Hall. They were all very pretty though......Mantis has my situation nailed. After watering everything and picture taking, and arranging pots in the heat (move daylilies out and move annuals in), little time to post pictures. They say 40% chance of rain tomorrow, so maybe I'll find the time if we get lucky. Now I'm off to church.............Maryl

Wow, Nordic Sunshine is impressive……4 reblooms, who could ask for more. The pattern is pretty but I am more impressed with multiple reblooming.

I can see the Royal Extravaganza background in Aunt Patsy, in its shape and watermark eye.

Debra, our Swingin' Miss came from Soules Garden. The current owner, Chris Wilhoite, was the president for many years of the daylily club we belong to in Indianapolis. I have been to Soules Garden many times (we bought some of our first daylilies there), but we never knew Marge and Clarence. Chris had donated it to a club auction and I bid just because it is a small one. It is so much prettier than the registration picture.

Looking back through my post, I noticed that I said we planted Sioux Hall in '22. Actually, we planted it in '21. It was a bonus plant when we made an order to Harmon Hill Daylilies.
