Real Board and Baton, or something faux? Real would be 1x Rough Sawn Boards with Narrower 1x Batons and is typically used as exterior siding. Faux would be the ship that has sailed.

Like the picture below! Yes I love that look only concern was the mirror which is why we went lower! I don't have a saw so only straight cuts. I was thinking about removing existing baseboard but since I can only do straight cuts I will just go off of that.

We hung our mirror on top of the wall treatment without any problem. I can take a pic when I get home today if that is helpful. I did remove our baseboard and replace it only because I wanted the wider 1x6 baseboard to match the top trim width.

Yes please do attach a picture. I think it looks awesome.  I am just concerned about the cutting. Did you have a saw. Did you just cut the corner pieces at 45 degree angle?

My neighbor had a saw I was able to borrow for the 45 degree angles. And thankfully was willing to give me a tutorial before turning me loose on my own, ha.

So you used 1 inch × 6 inch for top and bottom and what about for the slats?

I'm not a fan of shelves over the toilet. They look like an accident waiting to happen. I'd put a cabinet there, if you need storage. Otherwise, a picture.

Agreed with @jgulliford here about the mirror! You would want to go with a thinner frame, this one overwhelms the space a bit. I would suggest a 2" wide frame, maybe in a silver or satin nickel.
