What a stunner! Always thought they were gaudy, but I've clearly never seen them in white!

Hey @lowville5 zone5b/6 ON, Canada I don't disagree with the word "gaudy" but it for sure is a conversation 'piece'. It is planted right next to the sidewalk and it isn't unusual for people to stop by, take a picture and ask about the details of this shrub.

Not all hibiscus is moschaetos type, these are lasiocarpus and laevis, native to my neck of the woods. They're tougher it seems (or rather more adapted for here).

Sorry you get all the background clutter, but they're in the middle of the yard.

Wow, rouge, that is STUNNING! I had a Lord Baltimore years ago but lost it due to poor siting and neglect. I've been toying with the idea of trying again. Your Blue River is encouraging me lol...

Rouge, I'm not surprised that folks walking by take photos & ask you for info about this shrub! How many years after planting did it take for the blooms to be so spectacular? Will Blue River II still be in bloom mid September? When my daughter gets married sometime in the next few years, she'd like to have a fall garden wedding on our property. I'm trying to figure out what I could plant that would be special. She loves yellow and white, so this year I tried planting yellow Dahlias and yellow annual Hibiscus in front of mature Amsonia, but of the 4 Hibiscus, there have been few flowers. I must have done something wrong.
