I took all the doors and drawers off my new cabinets and unfortunately now need help with proper/standard positioning of the wall cabinet doors, so I can line up the applied panels and scribe the crown trim accurately.

I have overlay cabinet doors and drawers. Face frame outer stiles/rails are 1-1/2”. The doors are 2” longer than the cabinet opening height, which leaves a 1/2” reveal, if the reveal was even between top and bottom. I’m pretty sure this means I have 1” overlay cabinets?

I need to install the applied panels on the wall cabinets. I have drawers for the base cabinets and realized the drawer bottom is actually really close to the bottom of the face frame. I read online this was by design (to allow more room at top for countertops).

I can’t seem to find this same type of information for wall cabinets. Should I center them so top and bottom have 1/2” reveals or do similar to base and move towards the bottom so there is more room for trim molding at the tops?
